The Well Control Equipment Reliability Engineer will ensure the performance, safety, and reliability of subsea well control systems throughout all project phases.
The mission involves close collaboration with drilling contractors, OEMs, and project teams to achieve maximum operational uptime with zero unplanned BOP retrievals.
The Engineer will participate in rig selection, acceptance testing, maintenance planning, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with API standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and optimization of well control equipment reliability during all project phases
- Ensure compliance with company, API, and regulatory standards for drilling operations
- Coordinate rig acceptance, pre-deployment testing, and reliability audits
- Liaise with OEMs and third-party inspectors to manage upgrades and technical bulletins
- Deliver detailed reporting, failure analysis, and improvement recommendations
Must Have
- 5–10 years’ subsea experience on ultra-deepwater MUX units
- 5 years in onshore subsea management or reliability support (IDC/IOC)
- Proven experience with BOP systems from major OEMs (NOV, HMH, SLB)
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
- BOSIET certification and technical/engineering degree
Nice to have
- Familiarity with digital monitoring and remote testing tools
- Knowledge of KBOS integration and harsh environment operations
- French language skills
- Experience in TPI audit management and prior participation in large-scale deepwater projects
